The Flight of the Sugar Plum Fairy

I take my duties as the Sugar Fairy very seriously.

Chocolate Espresso Brownies drizzled with dark and white chocolates, to help the teachers at the high school make it through another day?

 

Check.

Chocolate Chip Cookies crusted with dark Chocolate and M&M's, to  help Nut Boy and his class celebrate on the day before his birthday?

 

Check.

Somebody Fell off the Wagon

Yes, I know I virtuously proclaimed nine short days ago that I am not a fabric hoarder (except for that fur thing). But I have a dear customer who asked if I might think about making monster cosmetic bags. And that meant I needed to order oilcloth. And then Cynthia, the wonderful owner of FabricWorm, pointed out that not only does she have Anna Maria Horner's oilcloth, but Heather Bailey's and the Echino line, too.  

 

 Then I happened to see some Michael Miller fabrics...with hedgehogs and gnomes...

 

Oops.

That quote should clue you in to the fact that my family took me to see Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" for my birthday.

No Grasshoppers Allowed

While tomorrow, my birthday, shall be celebrated throughout the land by the swilling of beer and the consumption of foods dyed disgusting shades of green, today, I just discovered, is Saint Urho's Day.

 

Saint Urho is reported to have driven the grasshoppers out of Finnland.  I assume we shall celebrate his holiday by swilling green cocktails made with créme de menthe.

 

Fuzzy Wuzzy

Monsters--and their fur--are taking over my studio.

 

I try really, really hard not to be a fabric hoarder, and I'm attempting to limit myself to what will fit in the dresser in my studio. But my fur drawer is full to bursting. And when I see a fabulous new fur, what am I supposed to do--walk away empty handed? Nuh uh! So I need to start sewing it up to make room for new acquisitions. Which means more purses! Pouches! Monsters!

Should I sew a fur bikini for our upcoming vacation? Hmmm...
