One of you loyal readers commented on my last post, reminding me that Halloween dressing up doesn't last forever. That made me realize that Squirrel Girl, a newly minted fourteen year old, has moved on to a whole new level of dressing up.
Friday night was the Homecoming parade and football game, which meant donning the blue and gold uniform complete with lots of braid, brass buttons, and poufy yellow feather. Oh, and hideous black shoes that practically make a teenage girl break out in hives from their ugliness. (Don't bother to try and guess which one is Squirrel Girl--I forgot to set my camera to "rapid fire", and she's not in this shot. But if she were, she would be the one with her hat perpetually cocked at a rakish angle.)
And Saturday night (actually, pretty much all day Saturday) was all about getting her glam on with the girls for the Homecoming dance.
Dressing up is definitely NOT over with!
I agree - it never ends.
What a great photo. It makes me remember my 9th grade Homecoming dance... My dad would have never let me out of the house in one of those dresses. He he he...How times do change.
