Our state cross country finals were held yesterday, at the Michigan International Speedway. It was very odd, after years of watching races wind through the woods and over the dales, to be standing in the middle of a ginormous auto racing track (I think the entire loop is two miles) and see the runners be dwarfed by the towering stands behind them. Frankly, if I looked up at those stands too long I began feeling as if someone had shrunk me with their ray gun. Thank goodness most of the race took place outside the stadium, in actual woods and dales, with the runners reentering for the home stretch.
So, you ask (and sorry, even if you don't ask I'm going to tell you), how did Squirrel Girl and her team do?
Hi again,
When I made the pictures going to my update on my blog of November 5 (http://simonedeklerk.blogspot.com ), I had to think of MacSpigott. Wouldn't he feel home here?
Hee hee
